Congratulations, Steven Truscott

Steven Truscott was today acquitted in the rape and murder of 12 year old Lynne Harper that occurred 48 years ago.

This doesn't mean he didn't do it though. Even O.J. Simpson was found not guilty. I haven't followed this story as intently as I had meant to. I wish I knew more and I think I'll be reading for some time yet, however I feel that there was a "miscarriage of justice". And that miscarriage of justice may have occurred today.

I will try to make time to read the report. It is very easy to pick apart every single bit of evidence as the piece that is needed to convict. But when you take the sum of all the parts, including circumstantial evidence, it makes the case more compelling.

I just hope that the Canadian Justice System isn't worse today than it is alleged to have been in 1959.
