Eight-year-old Katie Manchester walked confidently to the front of a Newmarket courtroom Wednesday and told a sentencing hearing she was "mad" at the street racers who killed her parents in May 2006... Dressed in pink and carrying a stuffed animal, the second grade student spoke about the loss of her parents. Since the accident, she has lived with relatives in Aurora.

If only the street racers were as brave. Their defence lawyer is seeking a sentence of "house arrest and community service". This is Canada, so they'll likely get it. It's perfectly okay here to kill people when you're "remorseful and young". As far as I'm concerned the 2 year sentence the Crown is looking for is too light.
